On 29 July 2026 at 1:30 a.m., police officers from the Gostivar Police Department arrested G.J. (44) from the village of Toplica and A.A. (46) from the village of Čegrane on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of animal cruelty
Earlier, at around 11:45 p.m. on 28 July, police officers from the Galate Police Unit found a group of people and several dogs with visible injuries and bleeding caused by fighting at the entrance to the village of Toplica According to the findings the suspects had previously agreed to organize the dog fights
A crime scene investigation was carried out and one injured dog was found inside a Fiat passenger vehicle The suspects were taken into police custody and following the full documentation of the case appropriate criminal charges will be filed
