On 17 November 2025 at around 03:30, at the exit of Gevgelija toward the Gevgelija – Skopje highway, police officers from the Border Crossing Point and Border Surveillance Station Bogorodica detained M.E. (27) and V.E. (22), both from the Republic of Albania. At that time, the officers noticed a “Volkswagen Touran” with Albanian national plates moving at high speed, driven by M.E., with V.E. as the passenger. The vehicle was stopped, and near it five migrants were found – one from Syria and four from Egypt.
The vehicle and the migrants were taken to the reception–transit center in Gevgelija, while the individuals were held at the police station. In consultation with the public prosecutor, a fast-track criminal complaint was filed against them.
