During the past 24 hours, police officers across the country arrested 20 drivers for reckless driving offenses.
Of those arrested, 16 were operating vehicles without a valid driver's license, including one minor, while four individuals were found driving under the influence of alcohol.
In Skopje, five individuals were caught driving without a driver's license, one of whom was also under the influence of alcohol. Three unlicensed drivers were apprehended in Kočani, including one minor. Two unlicensed drivers were arrested in Gostivar, while one unlicensed driver each was recorded in the municipalities of Krivogaštani, Gradsko, Kičevo, Tetovo, Štip, and Prilep.
Meanwhile, one driver each in Prilep, Vinica, Kumanovo, and Makedonski Brod was found operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
Following the full documentation of the cases, appropriate criminal charges will be filed against the offenders.
Authorities appeal to all road users to respect traffic laws and regulations, not to drive without a valid driver's license, while under a driving ban, or under the influence of alcohol, and to contribute collectively to safer roads for everyone.
