During the past 24 hours, police officers across the country detained 13 drivers for “reckless driving.” Seven of them were driving without a valid driver’s license, including one minor. One of the drivers was also under the influence of alcohol.
One foreign national was also detained for speeding at the Tabanovce Border Crossing after the “Safe City” system detected him driving at 164 km/h in an area where the speed limit is 80 km/h.
Five people were driving under the influence of alcohol, one of whom was involved in a traffic accident and sustained serious bodily injuries. Following the full documentation of the cases, appropriate criminal charges will be filed.
We appeal to all road users to respect traffic rules and regulations, not to drive without passing a driving test, while under a driving ban, or under the influence of alcohol, and to work together to contribute to safer roads.
