During the past 24 hours, police officers across the country deprived 12 drivers of their liberty for reckless driving. Of these, seven were driving without a valid driver’s license, including one minor; two were caught driving above the permitted speed limit; two were driving under the influence of alcohol; and one was driving despite an active ban.
Two of the drivers in Skopje, including one minor, as well as one driver each in Shtip, Kumanovo, Kavadarci, Prilep, and Tetovo, were driving without a license. One driver in Gevgelija and one in Tetovo were recorded driving above the speed limit. One driver in Struga and one in Skopje were under the influence of alcohol, while one driver in Kumanovo was driving despite an active ban.
After full documentation of the cases, appropriate criminal charges will be filed.
We appeal to all road users to respect traffic rules and regulations, not to drive without a valid driver’s license, not to drive if they are under a driving ban, and not to drive under the influence of alcohol. Together, we can contribute to safer traffic conditions.
