On 15 July 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m., police officers from the Intervention Police Unit of the Skopje Sector for Internal Affairs arrested a 24-year-old Kosovar national, R.E., on "Jadranska Magistrala" Street in Skopje.
Earlier, at the Blace Border Crossing, while a customs officer was inspecting his BMW passenger vehicle bearing Kosovo registration plates, R.E. started the vehicle, pushed the customs officer and dragged him several metres before fleeing towards Skopje.
Police officers from the Intervention Police Unit immediately undertook operational measures and activities, intercepted the vehicle, and arrested the suspect.
During a search of the surrounding area, officers found a bag containing marijuana, while a pocket knife was discovered inside the vehicle. R.E. also stated that while fleeing, he had thrown away a bag containing two handguns.
The suspect was taken to a police station. Following the full clarification and documentation of the case, the appropriate criminal charges will be filed.
