The Strumica Sector for Internal Affairs (SVR Strumica) has filed criminal charges with the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Strumica against V.K. (41) from Strumica on suspicion of committing the criminal offenses of "Causing General Danger" under Article 288 and "Serious Crimes Against Public Safety" under Article 292 of the Criminal Code.
At approximately 10:00 p.m. on 25 July 2026 and 1:00 a.m. on 26 July 2026 in Strumica, the suspect allegedly deliberately set fire to a tractor owned by Zh.D. (70) from Strumica and to a Kia passenger vehicle owned by K.T. from Strumica. Firefighters from the Strumica Territorial Firefighting Unit extinguished both fires. No injuries were reported.
V.K. was deprived of his liberty and detained at the Strumica Police Station. A public prosecutor from the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Strumica was notified of the incident. The suspect was subsequently brought before a judge of the Basic Court in Strumica, who ordered 30 days of pre-trial detention.
