Yesterday (27.07.2026), between 17:00 and 22:00, the Mobile Traffic Safety Unit within the Traffic Affairs Sector carried out a traffic control operation in the areas of Kočani and Vinica, aimed at sanctioning motorcycle riders and drivers of light electric vehicles (e-scooters) who fail to comply with traffic rules and regulations.
A total of 59 sanctions were imposed during the operation, including one sanction for a driver of a light electric vehicle (e-scooter), 34 sanctions for riding a motorcycle without a protective helmet, one for an expired compulsory insurance policy, one for an expired motorcycle registration, three for driving without the appropriate license category, one for driving under the influence of alcohol, two for other violations committed by motorcycle riders, and 16 for other traffic offenses.
During the operation, three criminal offenses were also detected, and three individuals were deprived of liberty on suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code – operating a motor vehicle without possessing a valid driver’s license. One of the individuals is a minor, and three motorcycles were seized.
Appropriate charges will be filed against all offenders.
