The External Office for Criminal Affairs in Sveti Nikole has filed criminal charges against S.V. (55) from Sveti Nikole on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “abuse of official position and authority.”
The suspect, in his capacity as Mayor of the Municipality of Sveti Nikole, during 2021 exceeded the limits of his official powers and acted contrary to the provisions of the Construction Law and the Rulebook on the procedure for issuing construction permits. Specifically, he personally prepared, signed, and issued a construction permit that was not registered in the electronic system of the Department for Urban Planning, Environmental Protection, Public Utilities, and Disposal of Construction Land within the Municipality of Sveti Nikole.
This permit, which is legally invalid, was subsequently used by a contractor from Skopje who constructed a building worth 15,488,118 denars. As a result of these actions, financial damage in that amount was caused to the contracting party.
Additionally, the said building has not been registered with the Real Estate Cadastre Agency in Sveti Nikole, as it constitutes an illegally constructed facility.
