Today, the director of the Bureau for Public Safety at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Aleksandar Janev, conducted a working visit to the Tetovo Police Department as part of regular activities, where he held a meeting with the leadership of the Regional Sector.
During the meeting, Director Janev was thoroughly informed about the operational plans, the status of the services, and the manner in which public safety will be ensured in the region in the upcoming period, as well as on the day of the second round of local elections. The progress in clarifying the case of the robbery at the jewelry store in Gostivar was also discussed.
It was jointly noted that the security situation in the region is stable and that all police activities are focused on prevention and ensuring a free, peaceful, and dignified expression of the democratic right of citizens – the right to vote.
Director Janev emphasized that the police will not tolerate any form of violence, pressure, or illegal conduct, and that anyone attempting to disrupt public order, the integrity of the electoral process, or security standards will face a swift, professional, and decisive response from the police.
In the Tetovo region, in addition to physical static and mobile police presence, security will be further enhanced with modern technical means – through cameras from the "Safe City" system, as well as aerial monitoring with drones.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs, through the Bureau for Public Safety, remains fully committed to ensuring a peaceful, safe, and democratic electoral process, as well as to protecting public order and the safety of all citizens.
