Janev from the Public Security Bureau in Kumanovo: The police must be the guarantor of order, justice, and safety

The Director of the Bureau for Public Safety, Aleksandar Janev, today conducted a working visit to the Public Security Bureau in Kumanovo, focusing on the current security situation, the police activities related to the recent shooting incident, specifically the attempted murder in Kumanovo, as well as the overall functioning of police structures during this sensitive pre-election period and on election day itself.

Janev emphasized that the police are one of the key pillars of the state and an institution that must ensure that the highest democratic act – the right to vote – is realized freely, peacefully, and safely.

“I clearly and loudly conveyed the message: there will be no tolerance for violence, bribery, illegal influences, or any other criminal acts, regardless of whether they come from individuals, groups, or members of institutions,” stated Director Janev.

He underscored that the police are a service that enforces the law, not personal will, and that their duty is to be the guarantor of order, justice, and safety.

“Every police officer and every employee in the Ministry must act solely according to the law, with honor and integrity. Any action outside of that, any arbitrariness or ‘going their own way’ will be sanctioned – without exceptions and without excuses,” Janev declared.

He added that the state must be stronger than any individual who attempts to undermine the legal order, emphasizing that the mission of the police is to serve the state and its citizens, not personal interests.
