Scam with a fake accident, elderly woman from Bitola defrauded of 20,000 euros

On December 3, 2025, at 10:19 AM, a 70-year-old woman from Bitola reported to the Bitola Police Department that she had been defrauded of 20,000 euros. According to the report, a person called her and told her that her daughter had fallen down the stairs, had broken her jaw and leg, and that gold plates needed to be inserted. As reported, she left the money at the agreed location, and later, when she called her daughter, she realized she had been scammed. Measures are being taken to clarify the case.
