Esteemed members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs,
Respected professors, researchers, and scholars,
Dear readers,
It is with great pleasure that we present to you the tenth issue of the revived International Scientific Journal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, "Security."
With the publication of this issue, we complete a whole that brings the journal "Security" closer to the public, which has become recognizable and accepted in the scientific and professional community, with topics related to security, police work, human rights, forensic science, criminology, and other subjects significant for the development of scientific thought in the areas of action of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Macedonian police.
We find ourselves in a period where, more than ever, we must harness all resources, all knowledge, and accumulated experience in security and police work to respond to the challenges facing our country and to continue the path of development towards a stable, secure, modern, and successful Macedonia.
In this issue, you will find a total of eleven scientific and professional papers on topics important for police practice, which will be used for the development of evidence-based strategies and policies. Broad topics are covered, such as building strategies for police development, cybersecurity, digital corruption, environmental crimes, threats to national and international security, as well as the latest models of control and safety in traffic, such as Vision Zero, which aims to bring us much greater safety on the roads.
As the Minister of Internal Affairs, I will always support the collaboration between professionals in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and researchers, convinced that only through open cooperation, the exchange of data and information, and the preparation of quality analyzes and scientific research can we build a police force that truly serves the citizens and stands as a pillar of the functioning of the rule of law.
Aware that the education of employees is a valuable tool for building human capacities and professionals ready to make a strong contribution to the development of policing practices, in this address I want to encourage the employees in the ministry to engage in professional research and to take advantage of the opportunity offered by the journal "Security" to read the latest approaches to work, as well as to publish their scientific and professional insights on the processes, models, and methods of work that they themselves practice.
Starting from the next issue, the journal will also be published in English, making your scientific and professional texts accessible to a much broader readership, and we will also initiate the process of indexing the journal in international databases of scientific papers. This will allow us a wider scope of collaboration, increased visibility of scientific papers, and openness to new perspectives and ideas that will be applied in the daily operations of the police.
Sincerely,
Panche Toshkovski
Minister of Internal Affairs
President of the International Editorial Board of
