Iseni: Security is the foundation of the National Development Strategy; a safe and resilient society is a prerequisite for the state's development

The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Astrit Iseni, addressed the meeting of the Working Committee of the National Development Strategy today, which was dedicated to the topic "A Safe Society with a Focus on Internal Security Policy." The event was also attended by the UNDP Resident Representative, Armen Gregorian, the Secretary General of the Government, Igor Janushev, representatives of international organizations, institutions, and experts from relevant fields.

In his address, Deputy Minister Iseni emphasized the essential role of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in creating and implementing security policies, which are a key part of the National Development Strategy—a document that represents a long-term vision for the country's development over the next twenty years.

"Security is the cornerstone of every societal advancement. Without a stable state, there are no conditions for economic development, social progress, or effective rule of law. Our institution remains fully committed to fulfilling strategic priorities and coordinating with all stakeholders in the security system," Iseni stated.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Internal Affairs, through its strategic programs and the Strategic Plan 2025–2027, is deeply involved in achieving national goals for a secure, resilient, and just society, as well as in implementing reforms related to European integration.

Iseni also highlighted the importance of international cooperation with the EU, NATO, UNDP, and other partners, emphasizing that all activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are guided by the priorities defined in the National Development Strategy.

In conclusion, he expressed gratitude to UNDP for its ongoing support and added that the Ministry of Internal Affairs will continue to be an active and responsible partner in the implementation of the National Development Strategy.
