Four persons detained for domestic violence in the past 24 hours, a total of seven reported cases

 

On 06.04.2026 at 16:30 in Skopje, in the area of Gazi Baba, police officers from SVR Skopje deprived M.A. (53) from Skopje of liberty, because around 14:30 he was breaking the windows of the home with an axe and then threatened his 21-year-old son with a knife. When police officers arrived, he swung the knife towards them and made threats.

On 07.04.2026 around 00:30 at SVR Skopje, a 32-year-old woman reported that she had been physically assaulted in her home in the Skopje area by her husband A.S. (35).

On 06.04.2026 at 15:00 at SVR Skopje, a 23-year-old woman reported that on 05.04.2026 in her home in the Drachevo area she had been physically assaulted by her extramarital partner D.A. (24) from Skopje. She also reported that in the previous period she had been physically and psychologically abused by him, his mother, and his sister, but had not reported it to the police until now.

On 06.04.2026 at 08:00 at SVR Kumanovo, a 33-year-old woman from Kumanovo reported that she had been physically assaulted by her husband B.B.

On 06.04.2026 at 23:00, police officers from SVR Kumanovo deprived N.M. (53) from Kumanovo of liberty because he physically assaulted his 77-year-old mother.

On 06.04.2026 at 22:30 on “Smilevski Congress” street in Bitola, police officers from SVR Bitola deprived a 40-year-old man from Bitola of liberty because he threatened his wife, with whom he is in divorce proceedings.

On 06.04.2026 at 13:25 in Rosoman, police officers from OVR Kavadarci deprived a 46-year-old woman from Rosoman of liberty, acting upon a prior report that she had threatened her 81-year-old mother-in-law at home. She was detained at a police station and a public prosecutor was notified.

Measures are being taken to clarify the cases, and after full documentation, appropriate charges will be filed against the perpetrators.
