On 30 June 2026, at 6:00 p.m., on Ljubo Božinovski Piš Street in Tetovo, police officers from the Tetovo Sector for Internal Affairs arrested B.S. (54) from Tetovo on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of "Pollution of the Environment and Nature", punishable under Article 218 of the Criminal Code.
Following the circulation of a video on social media showing a person arriving in a Citroën passenger vehicle with Tetovo registration plates and throwing bags containing unknown waste material into the Pena River, near Vidoje Smilevski-Bato Street, the Tetovo police took appropriate measures and identified the suspect.
During an official interview, the suspect admitted to committing the offense. A public prosecutor has been informed, and upon completion of the investigation and full documentation of the case, appropriate criminal charges will be filed against B.S.
