As part of the European Police Chiefs Convention (EPCC 2026), held at Europol headquarters in The Hague, the Director of the Public Security Bureau, Aleksandar Janev, held a bilateral meeting with the newly appointed Executive Director of Europol, Jürgen Ebner.
The meeting confirmed the commitment to further advancing cooperation between the Macedonian police and Europol, particularly in the area of operational cooperation and the exchange of information relevant to preventing and combating crime.
The discussions focused on opportunities to further enhance joint activities in combating organised and transnational crime, cybercrime and illicit drug trafficking, as well as strengthening capacities through joint training, projects and the exchange of expertise.
Director Janev and Europol Executive Director Ebner also discussed contemporary security challenges and the need for continuous enhancement of police cooperation in order to more effectively address criminal threats of a transnational nature.
The meeting represents a continuation of the active cooperation between the Ministry of Interior and Europol and confirms the commitment to further strengthening operational partnerships and information exchange in the interest of citizens’ security.
