The Director of the Bureau for Public Safety, Aleksandar Janev, conducted a working visit to the Regional Police Department in Veles in anticipation of the local elections 2025

Today, the director of the Bureau for Public Safety at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Aleksandar Janev, made a working visit to the Regional Police Department in Veles and to the regional command center established for the operational management of activities related to the local elections 2025.
The focus of the meeting was directed towards the current security situation in the region and the police preparations ahead of the first electoral round, with a clear emphasis on maintaining stability, public order, and the safety of citizens, as well as the principle of zero tolerance towards violence and unlawful behavior.

The meeting addressed the operational capacities of the police, the allocation of resources at critical points, the optimal use of digital equipment, and the protocols for action in cases of disturbances to public order or the electoral process.
Special attention was devoted to preventing all forms of violence, from minor to severe, as well as to protecting the freedom of expression of the democratic will of the citizens.
Director Janev unequivocally emphasized that any attempt to disrupt order, influence the electoral process, or restrict the rights of citizens will face an active, swift, and professional police response.

"The law applies equally to all, without exceptions or privileges, regardless of whether it concerns a citizen, an official, or a police officer. The police must stand as the bulwark of the law, ensuring safety and protecting the rights of citizens and the state," emphasized Director Janev.
He added that prevention remains the first line of police action, but anyone who chooses to act contrary to the law will face accountability in accordance with legal regulations.

During his visit to the Public Security Bureau in Veles, the director of the Bureau for Public Safety reaffirmed the police's commitment to a peaceful, safe, and lawful electoral process, as well as the readiness of all police structures to provide complete protection of public order and the safety of citizens.
