Over the past 24 hours, police officers detained 10 drivers for committing the criminal offense of "reckless operation of a motor vehicle" under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code.
Of these, four were driving without a valid driver's license: T.T. (43) from Bitola, O.I. (44) from Kičevo, a minor from Skopje, and M.S. (35) from the village of Vataša, Kavadarci, who was operating a tractor.
Two drivers were operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. D.B. (21) from Skopje had a blood alcohol concentration of 1.99 grams per liter, while J.G. (67) from Štip had a concentration of 1.77 grams per liter.
Three drivers were operating a vehicle despite having an active prohibition on driving a motor vehicle: Z.S. (55) and I.S. (54), both from Kičevo, as well as S.M. (58) from the village of Ilovo, Delčevo.
Additionally, a minor from Negotino was riding a motorcycle without possessing a driver's license, and the vehicle was also unregistered.
After fully documenting the cases, appropriate criminal charges will be filed.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs urges all traffic participants to strictly adhere to traffic rules and regulations, not to operate a vehicle without a valid driver's license, with an active driving prohibition, or under the influence of alcohol, and to collectively contribute to safer traffic.
