During the past 24 hours (28/29 March 2026), across the entire territory of the country, police officers detained six drivers for reckless driving. Of these, two were driving without a valid driver’s license, one was operating a motorcycle without a license, and three were driving under the influence of alcohol.
One individual in Gevgelija was riding a motorcycle without a driver’s license, while one person each in the Municipality of Čaška and in Skopje were also found driving without a license. In Bitola, Skopje, and Ohrid, one person in each city was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol, with the driver in Ohrid recorded at 1.75‰ blood alcohol concentration.
After full documentation of the cases, appropriate criminal charges will be filed.
We appeal to all road users to respect traffic rules and regulations, not to drive without a valid driver’s license, not to drive if a driving ban has been imposed, and not to operate a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Together, we can contribute to safer roads.
