The Ministry of Interior continues to take concrete steps toward modernization and sustainable management of its facilities. A photovoltaic power plant with a capacity of 39.6 kWp has been installed at the Ministry of Interior Training Center in Idrizovo, which will provide a significant portion of the energy needs of this strategically important facility where basic and specialized police training is conducted.
The project was implemented as a donation by the company OKTA and represents part of its activities aimed at improving quality of life and supporting facilities of public interest. With the commissioning of the photovoltaic system, an annual production of over 53 MWh of electricity is expected, as well as a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 42 tons per year, representing a significant contribution to environmental protection.
Minister of Interior Panče Toškovski emphasized that this investment has multiple benefits for the institution, highlighting that the Training Center is one of the key pillars for the development of professional, well-prepared and efficient police personnel.
“Today, we took another concrete step toward a modern and sustainable Ministry of Interior. With a donation from the company OKTA, a photovoltaic power plant has been put into operation at the Ministry of Interior Training Center in Idrizovo, which will provide clean, green energy for one of the facilities where future police officers are trained. By introducing a renewable energy source, we not only strengthen the energy efficiency and sustainability of the Training Center, but also rationally reduce electricity costs. These funds can be redirected toward further improvement of infrastructure, training and equipment, which directly impacts the quality of police work,” Minister Toškovski stated.
“In addition to other projects in the energy sector, OKTA actively implements initiatives in the field of green energy. OKTA remains committed to this process and in the future we will continue to enhance cooperation with our partners and the community. I sincerely believe that this donation will bring new value to the Training Center and enable its further development,” emphasized OKTA’s Chief Executive Officer, Dimitrios Pashos.
Within the framework of its long-standing cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, OKTA has previously implemented activities of public interest as well, particularly in the area of road safety, through the “I Pay Attention” campaign, as well as through the donation of photovoltaic traffic signs near primary schools, aimed at increasing the protection of children and raising public awareness.
The Ministry of Interior will continue in the coming period to pursue policies focused on the use of clean energy sources and strengthening institutional sustainability, in line with contemporary European and environmental standards.
At the same time, with its own capacities and with the support of its friends and partners, the Ministry of Interior continuously works on the full equipping, modernization and improvement of the Police Training Center in Idrizovo. These investments represent a long-term commitment to the professional development of police officers and a direct investment in the safe future of the citizens of North Macedonia.
