Following posts and information shared on social media regarding a domestic violence incident, police officers immediately acted and undertook all necessary measures and activities to locate the perpetrator and protect the victims.
On May 29, 2026, at approximately 11:40 a.m., a witness reported to the Skopje Police Department that, in the Centar area, a man had physically assaulted his wife. Immediately upon receiving the report, police officers took measures and actions to locate the perpetrator and protect the victim. It was subsequently established that the individuals were from Veles, after which additional measures were undertaken by officers from the Veles Police Department to locate him.
After the individual, J.B. (48) from Veles, returned to his home together with his 43-year-old wife, he again physically assaulted both his wife and their minor daughter, while threatening them with a sharp object. Thanks to the swift and coordinated response of police officers from the Skopje and Veles Police Departments, the individual was arrested at 9:00 p.m. The sharp object was found and confiscated, and the perpetrator was detained at a police station.
The public prosecutor and the Veles Center for Social Affairs were notified of the incident, and an appropriate criminal complaint will be filed upon the full documentation of the case.
