During the past evening (25/26 April 2026), in the period from 21:00 to 03:00, the Mobile Unit for Road Traffic Safety within the Traffic Affairs Sector conducted an intensified traffic control operation in the municipalities of Kisela Voda, Ilinden, and Gjorche Petrov.
During the control, eight drivers were sanctioned for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, while two individuals refused to undergo an alcohol test. Three drivers were sanctioned for other traffic violations.
One person was deprived of liberty for committing a criminal offense under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code – “reckless driving of a motor vehicle,” specifically for driving under the influence of alcohol exceeding 1.50 per mille.
After full documentation of the cases, appropriate misdemeanor and criminal charges will be filed against all offenders.
The intensified controls will continue in the upcoming period with the aim of increasing safety and protecting all road users. We appeal to all participants in traffic to respect traffic rules and regulations, thereby contributing to safer roads for everyone.
