On June 13, 2026, between 5:00 PM and 11:00 PM, the Mobile Traffic Safety Unit of the Traffic Department conducted a targeted control in the areas of Kumanovo and Tetovo aimed at sanctioning riders of mopeds, motorcycles, ATVs, and electric scooters who disregard traffic rules and regulations. During the inspection in Kumanovo, a total of 43 measures were issued for traffic violations and criminal offenses. Among them, 28 measures were for riders operating motorcycles without helmets, two measures for riding a motorcycle with an inappropriate category, one measure for an expired motorcycle registration, one measure for an expired insurance policy, one measure for an unregistered license plate, two measures for other offenses committed by motorcycle riders, and four measures for remaining traffic violations. Additionally, during the inspection, four criminal offenses were uncovered, two of which involved minors. The offenders were detained under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code - "reckless operation of a motor vehicle," and three motorcycles along with one passenger motor vehicle were confiscated.
During the control in Tetovo, a total of 71 measures were issued for traffic violations and criminal offenses. Among them, 40 measures were for riders operating motorcycles without a protective helmet, four measures for electric scooter riders, three measures for unregistered license plates, two measures for expired motorcycle registration, one measure for an expired insurance policy, 16 measures for other offenses committed by motorcycle riders, and two measures for remaining traffic violations. Additionally, three criminal offenses were uncovered, and the perpetrators were deprived of their freedom for committing a criminal act under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code - "reckless operation of a motor vehicle," resulting in the confiscation of three motorcycles.
