Today (18.01.2026), from 10:00 to 18:00, the Traffic Affairs Sector within the Uniformed Police Department and the Mobile Unit for Road Safety conducted a nationwide enforcement operation targeting drivers exceeding the speed limit, during which 54 drivers were sanctioned.
Out of them, five vehicles were moving at speeds more than 50 km/h above the permitted limit, while three vehicles were traveling at speeds exceeding the allowed limit by more than 70 km/h.
All 54 sanctioned drivers exceeded the speed limit outside urban areas. Additionally, eight drivers were sanctioned for other types of traffic violations.
Traffic controls will continue in the coming days. We appeal to all road users to respect traffic rules and regulations so that together we can contribute to safer roads.
