On October 20, 2026, between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM, across the entire country, the Traffic Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted a targeted enforcement operation aimed at identifying and sanctioning violations committed by pedestrians, as well as those committed by drivers in relation to pedestrians.
During the enforcement operation, 175 violations were recorded. The majority of violations committed by pedestrians pertained to improper crossing of the roadway, specifically crossing the street at unsafe locations, outside of marked crosswalks. Among drivers, the most frequently recorded violations were failing to yield to pedestrians at marked crosswalks.
During the enforcement, 139 violations of other types were also noted.
Appropriate measures were taken for all recorded violations in accordance with legal regulations.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues to carry out traffic enforcement operations and urges pedestrians to use marked crosswalks and adhere to traffic rules, while advising drivers to reduce speed when approaching crosswalks, to be particularly cautious, and to always yield to pedestrians, in order to ensure greater safety for all road users.
