Targeted enforcement in the area of the Bitola Police Department resulted in 52 sanctions for moped and motorcycle riders and 25 fines for electric scooter operators

On September 7, 2026, between 4:00 PM and 10:00 PM, a targeted control was conducted in the Bitola Police Department area to sanction violations committed by moped and electric scooter drivers. During the enforcement, 52 measures were taken against moped and motorcycle riders, including 33 for not wearing a protective helmet, four for driving under the influence of alcohol, five for not having a valid insurance policy, one for an expired driver's license, and nine other violations. Additionally, during the targeted control, 25 measures were taken against individuals operating electric scooters. Of these, 17 were for not wearing a helmet and reflective vest at night, two for riding on inappropriate surfaces, one against a person under 18 years of age, and five other violations.
The control also uncovered eight criminal offenses under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code, and eight motor vehicles were seized.

We urge all traffic participants to respect traffic rules and regulations, not to operate a vehicle without a valid driver's license, or if they have been banned from driving, or if they are under the influence of alcohol, and together, let us contribute to safer traffic.
