Today (March 4, 2026), between 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM, the Mobile Unit for Road Traffic Safety under the Traffic Department conducted an enforcement operation in the area of the Tetovo Police Department - Gostivar Police Station to sanction drivers who do not adhere to traffic rules and regulations.
During the operation, a total of 59 measures were issued for traffic violations. Among them, six for expired validity of the driver's license, six measures for transporting more passengers than allowed in busses, minibusses, and taxis engaged in public transport, one for failing to conduct a mandatory technical inspection of a bus, nine measures for vehicles engaged in public transport without a medical certificate, ten measures for freight vehicles regarding overloading, exceptional transport, and failure to use a tarpaulin, six measures for lacking mandatory equipment in the vehicle, and six measures for other violations. Additionally, 15 requests were submitted for initiating misdemeanor proceedings against legal and responsible persons.
One individual was detained for committing a criminal offense under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code – "reckless driving of a motor vehicle," specifically without a driver's license, and five vehicles were confiscated due to an expired driver's license for more than six months.
Appropriate reports have been prepared for all offenders. Traffic controls will continue in the upcoming period. We urge all road users to consistently adhere to traffic rules and regulations. Only through responsible behavior can we collectively contribute to safer roads.
