Yesterday’s murder in Vinica solved; criminal charges filed against an 80-year-old Greek national; four persons detained

 

On 28.03.2026 at 16:11, the Vinica Police Department was notified by Emergency Medical Services that a deceased person, D.A. (56) from the village of Lipec, Vinica area, had been found near the city cemetery in Vinica. A doctor confirmed the death, and by order of a public prosecutor, the body was sent for autopsy.

In connection with the incident, police officers deprived of liberty I.L. (24), G.P. (80), and S.R. (55), all from the Republic of Greece, as well as S.Z. (57) from the village of Žabeni, Bitola area.

Following measures and activities undertaken by the Vinica Police Department in coordination with the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office Kočani, aimed at solving the criminal case, searches were conducted in the vehicles used by the individuals and in the apartments in Vinica where they had been staying. During the searches, four hunting rifles and approximately 800 rounds of hunting ammunition were found and seized, along with other evidence relevant to the investigation.

A criminal complaint will be filed against G.P. (80) from Greece under Article 123 of the Criminal Code, while appropriate submissions will be filed to the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office Kočani against the other individuals involved in the incident.
