On 11 July 2026, at around 9:20 p.m., B.A. (58), a Romanian national, reported to the Skopje Sector of Internal Affairs that he had become lost near Matka Canyon.
Using his mobile phone, B.A. sent his GPS coordinates, which indicated that he was located near Vrelo Cave. Following coordinated action by police officers from the Gjorche Petrov Police Unit and the Intervention Police Unit of the Skopje Sector of Internal Affairs, he was located in a forested area near the cave.
The Romanian citizen was found in good health and safely assisted by the police.
