13 drivers detained for “reckless driving” in the past 24 hours

13 drivers detained for “reckless driving” in the past 24 hours

During the past 24 hours, across the entire territory of the country, police officers detained 13 persons for “reckless driving”.

Of these, 11 drivers were operating vehicles without a valid driving licence, in Veles, Skopje and Prilep.

Two drivers, from Kumanovo and Skopje, were driving under the influence of alcohol.

While taking measures and activities, police officers established that, in the case of a driver from Skopje who was operating a vehicle without a driving licence, the front registration plate on the passenger motor vehicle did not belong to that vehicle.

Following the full documentation of the cases, appropriate criminal charges will be filed.

The Ministry of Interior continues with intensified traffic controls aimed at sanctioning irresponsible drivers and preventing behaviour that endangers the safety of all road users. Respecting traffic rules and regulations, holding a valid driving licence and driving while sober are fundamental to ensuring road safety.
