Excerpt from the Daily Events – 06.03.2026

During the night of 05/06.03.2026 in Skopje, at several locations, police officers from the Skopje Police Department deprived K.D. (20), R.M. (20), and 19-year-old E.V., all from Skopje, of their liberty after a lumpy substance and marijuana were found and seized from them. After the cases are fully documented, appropriate reports will be filed against them.

On 05.03.2026 at 12:19, it was reported to the Demir Hisar Police Station that on the Demir Hisar–Kichevo road, at a location known as “Krbla”, within the area of the village of Sopotnica (Demir Hisar municipality), a passenger vehicle “Fiat” with Demir Hisar license plates, driven by Lj.B. (52) from the village of Zhvan, Demir Hisar, went off the road. The driver Lj.B. died at the scene, and a doctor from the Emergency Medical Service confirmed the death. His passenger D.G. (59) from the village of Zhvan sustained serious bodily injuries, confirmed at the Clinical Hospital in Bitola. Upon instructions from a public prosecutor, the body of the deceased was handed over for autopsy. An inspection was carried out by an investigative team from the Demir Hisar Police Station.

The Department for Cross-Border Crime, Migration, Foreigners and Readmission in Gevgelija filed criminal charges against F.S. (46) from Turkey due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of “migrant smuggling”. On 02.03.2026, on the road Gevgelija – Bogorodica Border Crossing, police officers stopped a passenger vehicle “Dacia” with Albanian national license plates driven by the suspect, and five migrants were found in the vehicle, four from Afghanistan and one from Turkey.

On 05.03.2026 at 17:00 at the Bogorodica Border Crossing, police officers deprived S.H. (29) from Greece of his liberty because during border control he presented a forged identity card. He was handed over to police officers from the Department for Cross-Border Crime, Migration, Foreigners and Readmission in Gevgelija for further procedure, while a judge in preliminary proceedings at the Basic Court in Gevgelija issued a verdict sentencing him to a suspended prison sentence of one year, which will not be executed if he does not commit another or similar criminal offense within a period of two years.

The Strumica Police Department filed criminal charges against Z.R. (54) and Sh.T. (21), both from Strumica, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of “unauthorized production and distribution of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors”. On 14.07.2025 in Strumica, police officers conducted a search of the second suspect, during which marijuana was found and seized, which he had previously obtained from the first suspect. The second suspect then gave part of the drug to another person for use.

The Kichevo Police Station filed criminal charges against B.T. (48) from Skopje due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of “unauthorized production and distribution of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors”. During a control carried out on “Osloboduvanje” Boulevard in Kichevo, criminal police officers found and seized marijuana from him, after which he was deprived of liberty.

On 06.03.2026 at 06:15, police officers from the Kumanovo Police Department – Matejche Police Unit deprived A.M. (39) from the village of Otlja, Lipkovo municipality, of his liberty. He is suspected that at 00:15, while traveling in a “Jeep” vehicle with several other persons from the village of Ropalce towards the village of Nikushtak, Lipkovo, he fired several shots toward an “Opel Omega” vehicle with Kumanovo license plates in which E.Sh. (45) from the village of Otlja and H.A. (43) from Kumanovo were traveling. No persons were injured and there were no bullet traces on the vehicle, while three shell casings were found at the scene. Measures are being taken to clarify the case, after which an appropriate report will be filed.

On 05.03.2026 at 19:25, police officers from the Tetovo Police Department detained D.A. (18) from Tetovo. He is suspected that earlier, after a brief argument on “173” Street in Tetovo, he inflicted serious bodily injuries with a sharp object on S.L. (23) from Tetovo, confirmed at the Tetovo Clinical Center. The suspect has been detained at the police station and an inspection was carried out by a team from the Tetovo Police Department. After the case is fully clarified and documented, an appropriate report will follow.

On 05.03.2026 at 14:00 in the Kumanovo Police Department, D.E. (50) from the village of Dovezence, Kumanovo region, reported that one of her sisters informed her on 31.12.2025 at around 22:00 that their brother M.P. (60) had died in the home in the village of Dovezence, where he lived with his father and his partner A.R. from the village of Mlado Nagorichane, municipality of Staro Nagorichane. Afterwards, she, together with another sister and her brother-in-law, went to the house in the village and found their brother dead on the bed. According to the report, at around 20:30 on 31.12.2025, Emergency Medical Services had been called from the deceased’s phone and they confirmed the death, while A.R. was taken to hospital because she felt unwell. As reported, the Emergency Medical Service did not report the death to the Kumanovo Police Department, and a death certificate was not issued on 31.12.2025 when the death was confirmed, but the following day on 01.01.2026 after her insistence. D.E. also reported that she suspects her brother did not die of natural causes but may have been poisoned. Measures are being taken to clarify the case.

On 05.03.2026 at 21:00 in the Kavadarci Police Station, an 81-year-old woman from Kavadarci reported that she had been defrauded of 300,000 denars. According to the report, a person contacted her by phone, presented himself as a doctor and told her that her daughter was currently in hospital with a fracture and needed to undergo surgery for which payment was required. After they reached an agreement, she went outside her home and handed the money to a male person, and later realized that she had been deceived. Measures are being taken to clarify the incident.

On 05.03.2026 at 13:30 in the Kavadarci Police Station, a 56-year-old man from Kavadarci reported that he had been defrauded by several persons of 4,900 euros. According to the report, he contacted them via the internet, where they presented themselves as representatives of a foreign company and convinced him to transfer money to invest in the stock market. He made several payments, after which the persons asked him to make an additional payment of 10,000 euros in order to withdraw the money he had invested, at which point he realized that he had been deceived. Measures are being taken to clarify the incident.

On 05.03.2026, a 31-year-old woman from Skopje reported that her former partner Z.A. from the Gostivar area had been threatening her during 2025 via mobile phone and through a social media application. According to the report, the complainant’s passenger vehicle was also damaged, and he followed her and threatened her, and had installed a tracking device on her vehicle. Measures are being taken to clarify the case.

The Skopje Police Department – Unit for Violent Crime – Department for Blood and Sexual Offenses filed criminal charges against T.T. (56) from Estonia due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of “rape of a child under the age of 15”. On several occasions in different periods, he performed sexual acts on a 14-year-old minor. A search was carried out at the residence where he was staying in the Kisela Voda area, during which items suspected to be related to the offense were found and seized. A judge in preliminary proceedings ordered a detention measure of 30 days.

The Department for Internal Control, Criminal Investigations and Professional Standards within the Ministry of Interior filed criminal charges with the competent Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for the Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption – Specialized Department for crimes committed by persons with police powers and members of the prison police – against R.S. for the criminal offense of “accepting a bribe”. The suspect, in the capacity of a police officer from the Traffic Safety Police Station in Kumanovo, on 27.02.2026 while performing official duties with a special vehicle “tow truck”, requested and received a bribe from a person from Kumanovo in order not to issue a report for a registered traffic violation and a misdemeanor payment order for improperly parked motor vehicle, thereby enabling the person not to be fined for the offense. The Department for Internal Control also submitted a proposal to initiate disciplinary proceedings against R.S. and to remove him from his workplace.

On 05.03.2026 at 01:00 in the Skopje Police Department, A.A. (36) from Skopje reported that in the area of Shuto Orizari he had been physically assaulted by a minor whom he knew and who inflicted serious bodily injury on him. Measures are being taken to clarify the case.

On 05.03.2026 at around 22:55 in the Skopje Police Department, B.S. (34) from Skopje reported that on 27.02.2026 in a retail facility in the village of Saraj, Skopje region, B.A. threatened with a sharp object and took money from the cash register. Measures are being taken to clarify the case.

On 05.03.2026 at 14:16 in the Skopje Police Department, Z.R. (45) from Skopje reported that in the Kisela Voda area, after a previous misunderstanding, he had been physically assaulted by a person. Measures are being taken to clarify the case.
