On 17/18 April 2026 in Skopje, at various locations, police officers from the Skopje Sector for Internal Affairs deprived of liberty I.K. (40), B.N. (43), M.J. (21), N.B. (36), and two 16-year-olds, all from Skopje, because white powdery substance, marijuana, tablets, and a knife were found and seized from them. After full documentation of the cases, appropriate charges will be filed against them.
On 17 April 2026 at 21:20, it was reported to the Skopje Sector for Internal Affairs that on Gjorgje Petrov Street in Skopje, a traffic accident occurred involving a BMW passenger vehicle with Skopje license plates, driven by L.J. (19) from the village of Kondovo (Skopje area), another BMW driven by E.D. (38) from the village of Laskarci, a Volkswagen Touran driven by O.S. (25) from the village of Krushopek, a Volkswagen Arteon driven by V.Z. (37) from the same village, and a Mercedes driven by B.R. (28) from the village of Glumovo. In the accident, L.J. sustained serious bodily injuries, while two of his passengers, six people from the other BMW, and the Mercedes driver B.R. sustained bodily injuries, confirmed at the Emergency Center of the “Mother Teresa” Clinical Complex in Skopje and the City General Hospital “8 September” in Skopje. A public prosecutor was notified, and an investigation was conducted by an inspection team from the Skopje Sector for Internal Affairs.
The Tetovo Sector for Internal Affairs filed a criminal complaint against L.K. (54) on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “blackmail.” On 05 August 2025, the suspect contacted a woman from Tetovo via a foreign phone number and demanded €20,000, claiming he was serving a prison sentence in Germany allegedly because of her. According to the report, he sent threatening and extortion messages to the woman and her mother, claiming he possessed video recordings that he would publish if they did not provide the money.
On 18 April 2026 at 01:30, it was reported to the Skopje Sector for Internal Affairs that on a bicycle path along the Vardar river quay, G.A. (27) from Skopje, while riding an electric bicycle, lost control and fell. He sustained serious bodily injuries, confirmed at the Emergency Center of the “Mother Teresa” Clinical Complex in Skopje. A public prosecutor from the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office Skopje was notified.
On 17 April 2026 at 14:15, it was reported to the Skopje Sector for Internal Affairs that on Lazar Trpovski Street in Skopje, a traffic accident occurred between a Peugeot passenger vehicle with Kumanovo plates driven by L.A. (40) from the village of Matejche (Lipkovo area) and a BMW motorcycle driven by A.S. (20) from Skopje. A parked Volkswagen vehicle owned by K.A. (49) from the village of Gluvo was also damaged. The motorcyclist A.S. sustained serious bodily injuries, while his passenger sustained bodily injuries, confirmed at the Emergency Center “Mother Teresa” and the “St. Naum Ohridski” hospital in Skopje. An investigation was carried out.
On 17 April 2026 at 10:00, it was reported to the Bitola Sector for Internal Affairs that on Bilbil Kamen Street on the road to the village of Bratin Dol (Bitola area), a DAF truck with Bitola license plates driven by T.S. (52) from Bitola, owned by the public utility company “Komunalec” Bitola, ran off the road. A passenger, worker J.G. (57) from Bitola, sustained serious bodily injuries, confirmed at the Clinical Hospital Bitola. An investigation was conducted.
On 17 April 2026 at 23:40, in a parking area behind the sports and recreation center “Biljanini Izvori” in Ohrid, police officers deprived of liberty F.F. (40) from Resen and M.B. (30) from Gostivar. During a search of the Volkswagen Golf vehicle they were traveling in, a plastic hydro-insulation spool was found, which they stated they had taken from a construction site where they were working on building a new stand at the sports center. After full documentation, charges will be filed.
On 17 April 2025 at 14:35, it was reported to the Ohrid Sector for Internal Affairs that in the old bazaar in Ohrid, a female person stole a wallet with money from M.J. (24) from Turkey. Shortly after, the person was found and identified as S.O. (44) from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The stolen items were recovered and returned, and charges will follow after full documentation.
On 17 April 2026 at 18:15, police officers from the Kavadarci Police Department and the Service Dog Unit, with a court order, searched the home of R.Sh. (18) from Rosoman. Marijuana, white powdery substance, and a sharp object were found and seized. A public prosecutor was informed, and charges will follow.
On 17 April 2026 at 23:15, it was reported to the Bitola Sector for Internal Affairs that on the Prilep–Resen road, near the Rotino and Kukurechani intersection, a Mercedes minibus with Ohrid plates transporting a fan group from Ohrid was damaged by a group of citizens while driving. Measures are being taken to clarify the case.
On 17 April 2026 around 15:50, it was reported that on Samoilova Street in Skopje, below the Kale fortress at the old training ground, a fire broke out burning dry grass. Three vehicles were also affected, and one person was injured while breaking vehicle windows in an attempt to move them. Police and the Skopje Fire Brigade intervened and extinguished the fire. Measures are being taken to clarify the case.
The Bitola Sector for Internal Affairs filed a criminal complaint against N.M. (54) from Bitola on suspicion of committing the criminal offenses “sexual acts in front of another” and “showing pornographic material to a child.” The suspect repeatedly performed sexual acts in front of his minor son and showed him pornographic videos at a weekend house.
On 17 April 2026 at 16:30, it was reported to the Sveti Nikole Police Department that a male person died in a hospitality facility at the city market after suddenly falling ill. A doctor from emergency medical services confirmed death without visible signs of violence. By order of a public prosecutor, the body was sent for autopsy, and measures are being taken to establish the identity.
On 17 April 2026 at 20:14, S.T. from the village of Dolno Aglarci (Novaci municipality) reported that while working in his garden, he found an old grenade. On 18 April 2026, a pyrotechnician safely removed it and determined it to be a 105 mm artillery shell originating from World War I.
On 17 April 2026 at 19:00, it was reported that in the Kisela Voda area of Skopje, following an argument, public order and peace were disturbed by a physical altercation between G.S. (75) and L.T. (51), both from Skopje. After full documentation, appropriate charges will follow.
