On 23 August 2026, at various locations in Skopje, police officers from the Skopje Internal Affairs Sector (SVR Skopje) detained J.D. (18) from Skopje, G.S. (33) from Vinica, I.Kj. (36) from the village of Dolno Palchishte, Tetovo, and V.S. (25), after marijuana, a brown powdery substance, and a lumpy substance were found and seized from them. Following the complete documentation of the cases, appropriate reports will be filed against them.
On 23 August 2026 at 20:30, the Bitola Internal Affairs Sector (SVR Bitola) received a report that on the regional road between the villages of Medjitlija and Staravina, 42-year-old D.J. from the village of Novaci, Bitola, while riding a moped with Bitola registration plates, lost control and went off the road. As a result of the injuries sustained, D.J. died at the scene. A doctor from the Emergency Medical Service confirmed his death. An inspection was carried out by an investigative team from SVR Bitola.
On 22 and 23 August 2026 in Veles, police officers from SVR Veles detained E.A. (35) and N.N. (36), both from Veles, on suspicion that they had stolen jewelry from the home of a 73-year-old woman from Veles. A public prosecutor was notified, and after the incident is fully cleared up and documented, appropriate charges will be filed against them.
SVR Tetovo filed a criminal complaint against K.K. (67) from Tetovo on reasonable suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “assaulting an official while performing security duties.” On 29 May 2026, the reported individual, an employee in the obstetrics department, behaved aggressively toward a female colleague and pushed her.
On 23 August 2026 at around 20:10, SVR Skopje received a report that a traffic accident had occurred at the intersection of Boulevard “ASNOM” and the service roads leading toward the Hilton Hotel in Skopje. The accident involved a Peugeot passenger vehicle with Skopje registration plates, driven by 43-year-old V.M. from Skopje; a Honda motorcycle with Skopje registration plates, driven by D.M. (26) from Skopje; and a Fiat Punto passenger vehicle with Skopje registration plates, driven by A.B. (40) from the village of Ljubin, Skopje. The motorcyclist sustained serious bodily injuries, while the driver of the Peugeot, V.M., and the passenger in the Fiat, I.C. (38) from Skopje, sustained bodily injuries. Their injuries were confirmed at the “St. Naum Ohridski” Public Health Institution and at the Emergency Center of the “Mother Teresa” Clinical Complex in Skopje. An inspection was carried out by an investigative team from SVR Skopje.
On 23 August 2026 at around 20:10, SVR Kumanovo received a report that a traffic accident had occurred on the regional road between the villages of Aleshevce and Slupchane, in the village of Aleshevce, Municipality of Lipkovo. The accident involved an IMT tractor with Kumanovo registration plates, driven by S.M. (32) from the village of Cherkezi, Kumanovo, and a Volkswagen Golf passenger vehicle with Kumanovo registration plates, driven by S.Kj. (64) from Kumanovo. The tractor's passengers, Sh.M. and M.M., sustained serious bodily injuries, while both drivers sustained bodily injuries. Their injuries were confirmed at Kumanovo General Hospital. An inspection was carried out by an investigative team from SVR Kumanovo.
The Department for Internal Control, Criminal Investigations and Professional Standards filed a criminal complaint against A.J. from Kumanovo, an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on reasonable suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “reckless driving of a motor vehicle.” On 22 April 2026, the reported individual drove a vehicle without having passed a driving test and at a speed exceeding the permitted limit. The Department for Internal Control also submitted a proposal to initiate disciplinary proceedings for a violation of work rules and discipline.
On 23 August 2026 at 10:40, the Negotino Internal Affairs Unit (OVR Negotino) received a report that at the intersection of Industrial Street and a branch of the same street, 45-year-old R.T. from Negotino, while riding a moped with Negotino registration plates, lost control of the moped and fell. He sustained serious bodily injuries, which were confirmed at Kavadarci General Hospital. An inspection was carried out by an investigative team from OVR Negotino.
On 23 August 2026 at 11:30, at the Tabanovce Border Crossing, upon entering the country, police officers detained K.G. (27) from the Federal Republic of Germany. During a search of the vehicle he was driving, marijuana was found and seized. The person was taken to SVR Kumanovo and, following the complete documentation of the case, an appropriate report will be filed against him.
On 23 August 2026 at 15:45 in Kavadarci, police officers from OVR Kavadarci detained Gj.S. (55) from Kavadarci. He is suspected of attempting, on 20 August 2026, to force open the entrance door and enter the home of a 47-year-old man from Kavadarci. Measures are being taken to fully clarify the incident, after which an appropriate report will be filed.
SVR Bitola filed a criminal complaint against S.S. (22) from Bitola on reasonable suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “unauthorized production and distribution of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors.” On 28 October 2025, on Stiv Naumov Street in Bitola, police officers searched an individual and found and seized marijuana, which had been purchased from the reported person.
On 23 March 2026 at 15:53, E.J. (34) from Skopje reported to SVR Skopje that her Kia passenger vehicle with Skopje registration plates, which had been parked on Boulevard “ASNOM,” had been damaged by a stray bullet from a firearm. The bullet was recovered, and measures are being taken to clarify the case.
On 23 August 2026 at 15:30, a 53-year-old woman from Skopje reported to SVR Skopje that on 22 August 2026 at around 18:00, at the family home, following a previous argument, she had been physically assaulted by her sister. Measures are being taken to fully clarify the case.
On 23 August 2026 at 14:00, police officers from SVR Tetovo detained L.A. (39) from the village of Tearce, Tetovo. He is suspected of having stolen a Renault Clio passenger vehicle with Tetovo registration plates on 21 August 2026. The vehicle belonged to B.V. (37) from the village of Zhepchishte and had been taken from in front of his home in Zhepchishte. The vehicle was found and returned to its owner. Following the complete documentation of the case, an appropriate report will be filed.
On 23 August 2026 at 16:30, a 35-year-old woman from the Skopje area reported to SVR Skopje that on 13 August 2026, at the family home in the Skopje area, following a previous argument, her 34-year-old husband had behaved aggressively and made threats against her and their minor children. According to the report, she had been physically and psychologically abused by him over an extended period of time. Measures are being taken to fully clarify the case.
SVR Tetovo filed a criminal complaint against E.R. (33) from the village of Debreshe, Gostivar, on reasonable suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “fraud.” The reported individual allegedly deceived her partner from Kosovo by telling him that she was pregnant. As a result, he transferred €18,000 to her on several occasions via rapid money transfers. She subsequently admitted that she had lied to him about being pregnant and that the child was his in order to induce him to send her money.
On 23 August 2026 at 11:30, V.S. (47) from the village of Negotino, Gostivar, reported to SVR Skopje that at 10:30 in the village of Dolna Matka, following a previous argument with an employee of the complex regarding a boat ride, she, her husband, and their daughter were physically assaulted by three individuals. Measures are being taken to fully clarify the case.
