Today (03.07.2026), Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Astrit Iseni paid a working visit to the Tabanovce and Belanovce border crossings to gain first-hand insight into the functioning of the border services, the current situation, and the operational activities carried out within the framework of border management.
The working meetings were also attended by the Head of the Regional Centre for Border Affairs "North", Dugagjin Kashtanjeva. During the meetings, the current situation at both border crossings, their level of preparedness, and the challenges faced by police officers in their daily work were reviewed.
During the visit to the Tabanovce Border Crossing, special emphasis was placed on the functioning of the One Stop system, a modern border control model that enables faster and more efficient processing of passengers and vehicles. It was noted that the implementation of this system has contributed to improved operational efficiency, shorter waiting times, and more effective coordination among the competent authorities.
The meetings also focused on future activities related to the further modernization and enhancement of border management, including the possibilities for implementing modern systems and solutions at other border crossings.
Deputy Minister Iseni emphasized the Ministry of Internal Affairs' commitment to continuously investing in the enhancement of the capacities of the Border Police, with the aim of ensuring a higher level of security, greater efficiency, and higher-quality services for citizens and all participants in cross-border traffic.
