Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Astrit Iseni participated in the 10th anniversary Regional Conference on Security Coordination in the Western Balkans, held today and tomorrow (November 11-12, 2025) in Skopje, organized by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Italian Republic, and in partnership with the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia.
In his address, Deputy Minister Iseni emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in addressing common security challenges, as well as the Ministry of Internal Affairs' commitment to enhancing trust in institutions, transparency, and efficiency in operations. He stressed that a stable and secure Western Balkans is a prerequisite for European integration and long-term stability across the entire continent.
The Deputy Minister highlighted that reforms must be visible, measurable, and transparent, with clear policies, more effective investigations, strong internal oversight mechanisms, independent judicial integrity, and real police accountability.
The conference featured high-level representatives from the governments of the region, international partners, experts, and civil society representatives, aimed at exchanging experiences, best practices, and strengthening common security policies.
