During the course of yesterday, police officers across the entire territory of the country deprived of their liberty 10 drivers, including one each in Skopje, Kumanovo, Veles, Kavadarci, and the Bitola region, for operating a vehicle without a driver’s license. The driver in Kumanovo had previously been involved in a traffic accident with a motorcycle, which was confiscated, while the passenger vehicles of the other drivers were also confiscated. One driver each in Skopje, Čaška, and the Prilep region operated vehicles despite having a measure banning them from operating a motor vehicle of category B. Their passenger vehicles were also confiscated. One driver in Kočani operated a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, and one driver in the Radoviš region operated a vehicle at a speed higher than permitted. The individuals were detained at a police station, and after full documentation of the cases, appropriate criminal charges will be filed.
We appeal to all participants in traffic to respect traffic rules and regulations, not to operate a vehicle without having passed the driving exam, not to drive if they have been issued a ban on operating a vehicle, and not to drive under the influence of alcohol, so that together we can contribute to safer traffic.
