Today, January 21, 2026, a public debate was held in Skopje on the topic of the Law on Senior Officials of State Administration and Funds, featuring State Secretary in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Sašo Petruševski.
The aim of the event is to open a professional and inclusive discussion on the proposed legislative solutions and to enhance them through the collective contribution of all stakeholders, facilitated by a fruitful debate among representatives of institutions, the academic community, the civil sector, and international partners.
The event was opened by the Minister of Public Administration, Goran Minčev, followed by remarks from the Secretary General of the Government, Igor Janusev.
After the presentation of the relevant law by the coordinator of the working group that drafted the law, a debate was initiated on the proposed solutions, resulting in conclusions and recommendations for improving the normative solutions.
The goal of the legislative solution is to define the concept of senior officials in state administration and funds and to create a clear distinction between political and professional functions in public administration. This reform will establish a stable, professional, and merit-oriented system for managing human resources at the highest level, contributing to increased efficiency, accountability, and transparency in the public sector.
