The Minister of Internal Affairs, Panche Toskoski, today conducted an inspection of the construction activities at the new police station in the municipality of Aerodrom, which represents one of the major infrastructure projects of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The construction of the new facility is part of a broader process aimed at improving the working conditions for police officers, as well as the quality of services that the Ministry provides to citizens. As part of this process, a fully renovated police station in Butel was recently put into operation, along with eight new administrative offices across the country. Among them are the new civil affairs offices of the Skopje Police Department located in the MTV building, which enable faster, more efficient, and more comfortable access to services for personal documents and other administrative needs of citizens.
"We are continuously investing in improving the working conditions for police officers and in modernizing the services that citizens receive. The new police station in Aerodrom will be a modern facility that will ensure better organization of work, a higher level of security, and a higher quality service for citizens," emphasized Minister Toskoski during the inspection.
According to information from the field, the construction activities are progressing according to the planned schedule, and the facility is expected to be fully completed by the end of May.
The new police station is designed with a main entrance for citizens from the boulevard side, for easier and more practical access, as well as an additional entrance at the rear for official purposes. The facility includes 36 parking spaces and fully arranged stormwater and sewage systems, while the gas installations are protected according to the highest safety standards.
The facade of the building is nearly complete, with three main entrances planned – for administrative services, for police services, and a separate entrance for detention. The interior of the building is equipped with modern workspaces, including specially designed areas for working with children – victims of violence, an isolated armory, modern meeting rooms on every floor, storage spaces, as well as eleven holding rooms with special security doors and windows.
The building also includes a designated recognition room, and underfloor heating has been installed. The electrical installations and plumbing are already finished, while the final phase of laying the floors and the heating system is currently underway.
