During the last twenty-four hours, at various locations across the country, police officers detained seven drivers for the criminal offense of "reckless driving of a motor vehicle" under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code.
Among them, three were driving without a valid driver's license: H.I. (39) from Veles, S.S. (36) from Kumanovo, and A.S. (25) from the village of Selce.
Two drivers were operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol: Z.S. (43) from Kumanovo and Z.Z. (63) from Veles.
Additionally, two drivers were operating a vehicle despite having an active driving ban: K.E. (49) from the village of Đurđevište, Gostivar region, and R.S. (47) from Kavadarci.
After thoroughly documenting the cases, appropriate criminal charges will be filed.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs urges all road participants to strictly adhere to traffic rules and regulations, to refrain from driving without a valid driver's license, under the influence of alcohol, or if they have an active driving ban. Disregarding the rules endangers the safety of all road participants. Through responsible behavior and respect for the laws, let us collectively contribute to safer roads and the protection of human lives.
