The Ministry of Internal Affairs informs the public that police officers remain deployed in the field and are responding to all reports related to the consequences of the severe storm, in coordination with the other competent institutions. Measures are being taken to ensure the safety of citizens, clear storm damage, and maintain the uninterrupted functioning of traffic and other public services.
The storm caused the most significant damage in the area covered by the Skopje Sector for Internal Affairs (SVR Skopje), where, as of 10:00 p.m., authorities had recorded 117 damaged passenger vehicles, 35 damaged roofs, 189 fallen trees, 7 damaged traffic lights, 5 fires, and 10 injured persons.
In addition, several facilities of vital importance sustained damage, including the premises of the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime and Corruption, the Vodno Villas complex, the Petrovec Airport Police Base, the Nova Makedonija building, as well as the buildings of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Public Prosecutor's Office.
In the area covered by SVR Kumanovo, 9 damaged vehicles and 3 damaged roofs were reported.
In the area covered by SVR Tetovo, 5 incidents were recorded, including 3 cases of damage to passenger vehicles and 2 cases of roof damage, while in the SVR Gostivar area no damage or injuries were reported.
In the area covered by SVR Veles, two passenger vehicles were damaged after being struck by fallen trees.
In the area covered by SVR Strumica, fallen electricity poles were reported in the villages of Dobroshinci and Gradoshorci, along with a power outage in the village of Svidovica.
In the area covered by SVR Bitola, no significant consequences were recorded. Only the area under the jurisdiction of the Makedonski Brod Police Station experienced a brief period of strong winds, with no reported material damage or fallen trees.
In the area covered by SVR Shtip, authorities recorded 14 damaged passenger vehicles and 6 damaged roof structures.
Within the Regional Centre for Border Affairs North, the most significant consequences were recorded at the Skopje International Airport Border Crossing, where a leaking roof caused an interruption of outbound border control operations for approximately one and a half hours.
At the Tabanovce Transit Centre, damage was recorded to several temporary migrant accommodation facilities (tents and auxiliary structures), as well as fallen trees, although no material damage was caused.
