Cleared case of a fake traffic accident, two individuals detained, a criminal charge has been filed

The Ministry of Internal Affairs in Bitola, in coordination with the Department of Criminal Police, has filed a criminal complaint against S.G. (54) from Prilep and S.I. (31) from Krushevo on grounds of suspicion for committing the crime of "fraud." On August 25, 2025, in Bitola, the accused deceived an 88-year-old woman from Bitola by phone, falsely representing themselves to inform her that her son had caused a traffic accident in which he ran over an eight-year-old child, and that her son and his wife were injured; they told her that if she wanted to save her son from criminal prosecution, she needed to give them 72,500 denars. After taking the money, the accused left, and the victim later realized she had been defrauded.

Immediately upon receiving the report, appropriate measures and actions were taken, and the fraudsters were located and detained, after which a criminal complaint was filed.
