The Criminal Investigation Unit in Prilep has filed charges against M.A. (46) from Skopje due to reasonable suspicion of committing the crime of "fraud." On November 4, 2025, the accused defrauded a woman from Prilep out of 2,000 euros and 1,000 dollars. Specifically, while falsely presenting himself as an inspector in a foreign country, he informed the woman that her grandchildren abroad had been involved in a traffic accident in which a child had died. He then requested money to ensure that her grandson would not go to prison, after which she left the money at the agreed-upon location.
Following actions taken by police officers from the Regional Police Department in Bitola and the Criminal Police Department, M.A. has been detained, and a judge has ordered his custody.
