Today (28.01.2026), police officers from SIA Skopje, SIA Tetovo and SIA Shtip carried out preventive activities in the field of traffic at several locations in Skopje, Tetovo, Berovo, Delchevo and Kochani.
Through direct communication with citizens and distribution of educational leaflets, they emphasized the importance of respecting traffic rules and regulations in order to increase traffic safety, especially regarding the use of winter equipment, which is mandatory in the period from 15 November 2025 to 15 March 2026. Drivers were also warned about the harmful consequences that may occur if a vehicle is driven under the influence of alcohol or if a mobile phone is used while driving, as well as about the legal obligation to use a seat belt and the fact that seat belt use significantly reduces the consequences in the event of a traffic accident. The need for pedestrians to respect traffic rules was also emphasized, and citizens were informed about the sanctions prescribed for non-compliance with the law.
Police officers from the Delchevo Police Department also conducted preventive and educational activities for protection against property crimes. Through direct communication with citizens in Delchevo, especially the elderly population, police officers provided useful advice on how to protect themselves and their homes from thefts, burglaries and frauds, and stressed the importance of reporting any suspicious case to the police.
