On 31 July 2026, at the Strumica Police Station, police officers from the Strumica Police Department conducted an official interview with Z.P. (37) from Strumica, following a report that on 31 July 2026, at around 12:40, he had attacked his 34-year-old former wife with a sharp object at a catering establishment in Strumica, inflicting an injury to her face, after which he fled the scene. Shortly afterwards, he himself reported to the Strumica Police Station.
A breathalyzer test established that Z.P. had 1.20 per mille of alcohol in his blood.
The 34-year-old woman was transported to the Štip Medical Centre, where she was diagnosed with serious bodily injuries.
The Strumica Police Department submitted criminal charges to the Strumica Basic Public Prosecutor's Office against Z.P. on reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offence of “attempted murder in connection with domestic violence”, pursuant to Article 123, paragraph 2, in connection with Article 19 of the Criminal Code.
Today, Z.P. will be brought before a judge at the Strumica Basic Court.
