Five People Detained Following Six Reports of Domestic Violence in the Past 24 Hours

On 17 June 2026 at 13:30, a 39-year-old woman reported to the Skopje Internal Affairs Sector that on 16 June 2026, in the Shuto Orizari area, she had been physically assaulted by her partner, E.B. Measures are being taken to clarify the case.

On 17 June 2026 at 20:30 in Tetovo, police officers from the Tetovo Internal Affairs Sector detained Sh.E. (59) from Tetovo, acting upon a previous report filed by his 50-year-old wife, who stated that following a brief argument in their family home, he attempted to physically assault her. He was held at a police station and a subsequent check revealed that he was under the influence of alcohol, with a blood alcohol concentration of 2.03‰.

On 18 June 2026 at 06:50 on Gjorgji Sugarev Street in Prilep, police officers from the Prilep Police Department detained Lj.S. (58) from Prilep, acting upon a previous report filed by his 58-year-old wife, who stated that he had verbally abused and insulted her.

On 18 June 2026 at 08:40, police officers from the Kumanovo Internal Affairs Sector detained M.Gj. (24) from Kumanovo, acting upon a previous report that he had psychologically and physically abused his former partner.

On 17 June 2026 at 23:15 in Veles, police officers from the Veles Internal Affairs Sector detained S.C. (50) from Veles, acting upon a previous report that he had behaved aggressively and threatened his 54-year-old wife at their home. He was taken to a police station and a public prosecutor was notified.

On 17 June 2026 at 20:35 in Kavadarci, police officers from the Kavadarci Police Department detained S.S. (31) from Kavadarci, acting upon a previous report that he had physically assaulted his 53-year-old mother in the yard of the family home. He was taken to a police station.

Measures are being undertaken to fully clarify the cases, and upon their complete documentation, appropriate charges will be filed against the perpetrators.
