Deprived of their freedom, a bus driver in Tetovo and a passenger on the bus were found with undeclared 34,965 euros.

Today (May 24, 2026), police officers from the Mobile Unit for Compensatory Measures at the Department of Border Affairs and Migration in the area of SVR Tetovo stopped a "Mercedes" bus owned by a travel agency, driven by R.F. (37) from the village of Dobroshte, Tetovo, which was traveling on the Germany-Macedonia route.

During the inspection of the bus, several cans were found in the trailer for which the individual did not possess any documents or permits for transport. Meanwhile, during a search of one of the passengers, F.I. (20) from Tearce, Tetovo, five envelopes containing various denominations were discovered, totaling 34,965 euros, which he had brought through the Tabanovce Border Crossing without declaring them and without possessing any documents proving ownership or the origin of the money.

The individuals have been deprived of their freedom under Article 278 "smuggling" of the Criminal Code and Article 29 of the Foreign Exchange Operations Law, and once the case is fully documented, appropriate charges will be filed against them.
