During the past 24 hours, police officers across the country detained nine drivers for “reckless driving”.
Four of the drivers were operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol, in Kumanovo, Skopje and Delchevo. One of them, who was riding a motorcycle, was found to have a blood alcohol level of 2.37‰.
Four drivers were operating vehicles without having passed a driving test, from Gostivar, Tetovo, Kumanovo and Skopje. Among them was a minor from Gostivar, while the driver from Tetovo was operating a moped without having passed a driving test.
One driver from Vinica was operating a vehicle despite having an active driving ban.
Following the complete documentation of the cases, appropriate criminal charges will be filed.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues with intensified traffic controls, with the aim of promptly sanctioning drivers whose conduct endangers road safety. Compliance with traffic rules and regulations, as well as responsible behaviour by every road user, are crucial for preventing traffic accidents and ensuring greater safety for all.
