During the past 24 hours, at various locations across the country, police officers arrested 19 drivers for committing the criminal offence of “reckless driving” under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code.
Of them, the following persons were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol: M.R. (24) from the Skopje area, N.K. (23) from the Demir Hisar area, H.T. (20) from Bitola, F.A. (24) from Kumanovo, S.I. (33) from the Kumanovo area, Z.L. (49) from Sveti Nikole, G.S. (45) from Delchevo, G.Ch. (48) from Kavadarci, K.R. (26) from Kavadarci, and Z.B.P. (34) from Veles.
Eight persons were driving without having passed a driving test: S.V. (47) and M.J. (23), both from Skopje; B.I. (20) from the village of Drachevica, Skopje area; R.T. (18) from Gevgelija; Z.H. (59) from the village of Lokveni, Prilep area; A.R. (34) from the village of Gorna Rechica, Tetovo area; and two 16-year-olds from the Gostivar area.
Meanwhile, I.B. (39) from Skopje was arrested for driving a motor vehicle while under an active driving ban.
Following full documentation of the cases, appropriate criminal complaints will be filed.
We appeal to all road users to comply with traffic rules and regulations, not to drive without having passed a driving test or while subject to a driving ban, and not to drive under the influence of alcohol. Let us all contribute together to safer road traffic.
