During the past 24 hours, throughout the country, police officers arrested 18 drivers for the criminal offence of “reckless driving.”
Of these, 17 were driving without a valid driving licence: five in Skopje, three in Prilep, and one each in Bitola, Kočani, Delčevo, Kičevo, Valandovo, Gevgelija, Veles, Negotino and the Tetovo area.
One driver was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol in the village of Dulica, Makedonska Kamenica Municipality, where he also caused a traffic accident resulting in material damage.
Following the complete documentation of the cases, appropriate criminal charges will be filed.
We appeal to all road users to respect traffic rules and regulations, not to drive without having passed a driving test, while subject to a driving ban, or under the influence of alcohol, and to jointly contribute to safer road traffic.
